Call for Mural Artists
Location: Allen Park, Michigan
Murals Installed: August 2026
Paint The Park is a large-scale public art initiative transforming the city of Allen Park through bold, high-quality murals and immersive art experiences. In 2026, the program will expand to include 8 new exterior murals, alongside a curated art fair, a city-wide art show, and nighttime light activations.
We are seeking experienced mural artists with a strong visual voice, public art experience, and the ability to work at scale. This is a curated, competitive call for artists interested in creating impactful, publicly visible work in collaboration with a city-backed program.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking artists who:
Have experience completing large-scale exterior murals
Demonstrate a strong, cohesive artistic style
Are comfortable working in public-facing environments
Can complete work within an assigned production window
Murals will be exterior, highly visible works intended to enhance the city’s public realm and contribute to a cohesive, high-quality mural program.
Artist Selection Process
Submitted applications are reviewed by The Mural People and narrowed to a curated shortlist of approximately 30 artists based on artistic quality, experience, and program fit. Final artist selection is made in collaboration with participating building owners, who choose from the curated shortlist to ensure a strong match between the artwork and each site.
Due to the high volume of submissions, only selected artists will be contacted. Submission does not guarantee selection.
Program Partners
Paint The Park is produced in partnership with the Allen Park Downtown Development Authority and local property owners.
